Adrian Paci’s “Per Speculum” (a phrase which literally means ‘by means of a mirror’), refers to the
tradition of picture making, in which the differences between representations of the visible world,
and the world itself, are exposed. Paci’s work is an allegory in which seeing the world ‘per
speculum’ - through the mirror of the artist or the artwork - does not necessarily yield a perfect
reflection.
